Jakks Pacific to show off new Laser Challenge gear

From aliInfo-about.com

Fans that worried the Laser Challenge line was in trouble seem to have little to fear. It has been announced that JAAKS Pacific Inc. will show new products from the Laser Challenge line at Toy Fair 2003.

The new gear includes Laser Challenge Communicators, and Laser Challenge Virus, as well as the newest in kids' paintball -- the new line-up of NRG Paintball Sets in single and double packs.

Laser Challenge Communicators are a dual-channel communicator built into a tag gun that allows teams to talk to each other during matches. The set is for both indoor and outdoor play and outfits two players with communicator blasters that can reach over 250 feet, and vests for an SRP of $39.99.

For an SRP of $19.99, Laser Challenge Virus, also for indoor and outdoor play, comes with two infrared technology blasters and vests. The blasters fire accurately up to 250 feet and have a special 10-shot express reload system. Brand new features include a special "disabler" button to "freeze" your opponent's firing ability.

Laser Challenge Radar Extreme gives taggers features, including a blaster that fires over 250 feet and vests that emit a signal when an opponent has the player in his radar sight. The electro-luminescent target light is visible from over 250 feet away and a special team select feature ensures that players cannot hit their own team members. The set equips two players with blasters and vests and has an SRP of $29.99.

With blasters and vests that are tethered together, Laser Challenge Gotcha Extreme has hot new reload and multi-hit shot features. The Destroyer Blast multi-hit feature delivers 10 hits with one shot and the Max Blast multi-hit feature delivers three hits with one shot. A rapid reload mechanism ensures taggers that they are always ready for action by providing 25 shots with each reload. Gothcha Extreme also has a special radar display that locks in opponents and a blast shield that acts as an invisible force field for last minute escapes. The set equips two players with blasters and vests and offers two modes of play and digital sound effects for a SRP of $29.99.

Toymax of Plainview, N.Y., became a wholly owned Jakks Pacific subsidiary on Oct. 28, 2002. The company also recently acquired St. Louis-based Trendmasters. JAKKS Pacific Inc. develops its own brands as well as World Wrestling Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Blue's Clues, SpongeBob SquarePants, Winnie the Pooh, Hello Kitty and the Dragon Ball franchise.
