The
Basic Game
This is a
basic game of tag, good with at least four people, two per team. This
was written with the new Tiger Toys Lazer Striker in mind and is a variation
on the game we play most often. This game is meant to be over fairly
quickly as its name denotes. Several of these may be played back-to-back.
The Field: The ideal field is 100-150 feet long by 60-80 feet wide (about
the size of two basketball courts). The field should contain plenty
of barriers shuch as shrubs or blocks to hide behind. Teams with more
players should use larger fields.
Play Conditions:
All Lazer Strikers begin at with all but two hits left. Everyone starts
at a base of some sort. The team winning the credit toss gets a head
start from the base. The other team gets to try to find them/ draw them
out. The second team has the problem of being sniper bait
Equipment Notes: Everyone should set their Lazer
Strikers to the same status (two hits left) at the start of each game.
Physical Contact: To discourage close-quarters
play, physically tagging can be used to "freeze" someone for 15 seconds,
enough time for one to find a new hiding place. This should encourage
battles with more distance between players.
An alternate idea is to penalize with a hit during the freeze as well.
