Alex's program will work on a 16F84. Because of the small differences between the two chips, be sure to change the chip definition from 16c84 to 16f84 before compiling. Everything else will work fine.

: Hi everyone,
: I just have a quick query about programming pic's, for those of you who have experience in this area. I went onto Alex Moon's site which provides some great source code for programming the 16C84 PIC microcontroller. Problem is, at the moment i only have a 16F84A PIC at my disposal. I simply wanted to know whether the code would be compatible with the 16F84A or not ie can i program my 16F84 with code that is written for a 16C84?? The reason i ask is that both chips seem very similar in nearly all respects on the spec sheets.
: Advice much appreciated,
: Luke De Vincentis
