The problem with playing indoors, even with 2000 sq feet is that the IR beam bounces and you could end up tagging yourself. There are some work arounds for this, however. For example if you purchase any of the Laser Challenge equipment that allows for A and B teams, or the Sega/Playmates Lock On (If you could find it) will bring this down to a minimum. The older WOW compatible ESS does the same thing.
Further with space you could build some easy and inexpensive barriers or a maze. I suggest you take a look at Peter Montgomery's web site at www.laserblitz.com for more information on how to modifiy current equipment, building barriers and game play.
Best of luck and happy tagging!
