WOW, I just realized that the posts go all the way back to 1999. I also have noticed that even on the LAN system in my office, the page does seem to stall in loading for a few seconds. To me it's not really a big deal but it is time to possibly start thinking of an archive page, if it is at all possible with your server.
If you could transplant evrything except the last 200 messages (just a number off the top of my head) into an archive with a search feature, this would be great.
