The IR LEd mentioned is hard to come by in small quantites. Farnell will sell them to you, or you could use an alternate part, such as PDI-E805 from Digikey (its $3.00 in single quantity and is to-46 size. Other than that, its a near identicle mathc to the SFH 484)
